There is just so much to love about today’s wedding from Austin, Texas. The couple, Lindsy and Austin, enjoy shopping at farmers markets and cooking dinner together, and decided to make that the theme of their wedding. The result was a picture perfect wedding that’s colorful, creative, and budget-friendly. Those three words are music to our Love Toast ears!

PS- Those awesome boutonnieres are made from real peppers by the bride. We love the creativity!

Who are Lindsy and Austin?

We met in a dorm as freshmen at the University of Texas. Austin studied journalism and is more of the creative, big picture thinker. I studied information systems in the business school, and am more of the detail- oriented and logistics person. When working together, it’s pretty sweet because Austin makes me more impulsive and comes up with the fun ideas, and then I help to make them doable.

We love all of the fruit and vegetable details of your wedding. How did you come up with the style of your wedding?

Our date of choice would be a trip to the grocery store (or two stores), or farmers markets in the summer, and then coming home and cooking. Austin wanted our wedding to represent us and what we love to do, so he came up with the idea to make it a farmers market themed wedding. He wanted to have the food be a collection of mobile food trucks, like at the farmers market, and I wanted to decorate with fruits and veggies. Both choices ended up being great for our budget. The fruits and veggies were cheaper than flowers, and the mobile food vending was less expensive than the traditional caterers.

Can you share a funny moment from your wedding with us?

For the bride and groom cakes, we did a normal cake for the bride’s, but for the groom we had pies and snacks (cookies, lemon bars, etc). People had been sneaking cookies and snacks during the wedding before we cut the cake, but that wasn’t a big deal. I even stole a cookie. But I guess our display was even more enticing than I thought, because when we got around to cutting the cake, there was already a slice taken out of the cake!

Too funny! We’d love to know who the bold (and sneaky) guest was.
